We are sorry to have to inform you that we have unfortunately had to postpone the opening of the Italian School in London to September 2010.
Despite the great interest we received from Italian families all over London we have not managed to confirm enough students per class to make the running of the school financially viable. This is large part due to delays which have resulted in many of these families having to accept places elsewhere.
Our fund-raising campaign, which has really moved forward in the past few weeks, has nonetheless been unable to bridge the gap which would have allowed the school to open. Again, time was tight and big donations need to be approved and take time to come through.
On the positive side, through this exercise we have now secured the support of some major donors, which has made the Board of Trustees decide that the project can and should move forward, and in September both our fund-raising and our marketing activities will start again in order to ensure that the school will open the following September.
Admissions are open for academic year 2010-2011.
We take this opportunity to thank all those who have already supported and encouraged us with their trust and their approval. We look forward to working with you all again in September because we still believe that this is a worthwhile project and that Italians deserve to have their school in London.
